Position Description

The International Max Planck Research School for Infectious Diseases and Immunology (IMPRS-IDI), based in Berlin, Germany, announces up to six fully funded PhD positions for 2026. This highly interdisciplinary graduate program provides training in infection biology, immunology, parasitology, and medical biotechnology.

PhD candidates will have the opportunity to conduct research at leading German institutions, including the Max Planck Institute for Infection Biology, the German Rheumatology Research Center (DRFZ), Charité-Universitätsmedizin Berlin, and Technische Universität Berlin.

The IMPRS-IDI offers a stimulating international environment with more than 75 doctoral students representing over 25 nationalities, fostering collaboration and cross-disciplinary innovation.

Each project integrates cutting-edge molecular and cellular biology techniques with advanced imaging and computational approaches to address fundamental biomedical questions.
