SNU Chennai offers three pathways to pursue doctoral studies:

  • Sponsored candidates from industries or educational institutions

  • AICTE Quality Improvement Program teachers

  • Fellowship holders or scholars selected by recognized bodies

  • Foreign nationals sponsored by the Government of India or equivalent exchange programs

Scholarship and Financial Support

SNU Chennai provides generous financial assistance to full-time research scholars:

Note: Part-time PhD scholars are not eligible for a stipend.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Master’s degree in relevant discipline with at least 60% or equivalent CGPA

  • Candidates with national-level fellowships (UGC/CSIR/AICTE/INSPIRE) are encouraged to apply

  • Proficiency in English and demonstrated research aptitude are required
